Professor James Stamant's teaching and research interests include 19th and 20th-century American literature, Southern literature, Modernism, media, political violence, and the history of the book. He is currently writing about the relationship between media and authorship. In addition to teaching literature and writing, he co-teaches the Book History Workshop every summer, a class at Texas A&M University about the hand-press period of bookmaking.
