https://www.agnesscott.edu/writersfestival/The 55th Annual Writers' Festival welcomes alumna author, Charleen McClure `10, for a reading and discussion of her work. Charleen McClure ’10 graduated with a degree in English. She is a poet, writer, and actor. A Fullbright scholar and Rona Jafee award recipient, her work appeared in Poem–a–Day, Prairie Schooner, The Offing, and more. Her debut poetry collection, "d-sorientation" was praised as a “work of staggering beauty, intellect, and grace…” by Aracelis Girmay. McClure made her acting debut as Mack in All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt (A24, 2023), a role The New Yorker described as “extraordinary,” embodying “poise, inwardness, thoughtful radiance, and a quietly relentless sense of purpose.” As with all Writers' Festival programming, this event is free and all are welcome to attend.
