https://www.agnesscott.edu/writersfestival/The 55th Annual Writers' Festival welcomes alumna author, Charleen McClure `10, for a reading and discussion of her work. Charleen McClure ’10 graduated with a degree in English. She is a poet, writer, and actor. A Fullbright scholar and Rona Jafee award recipient, her work appeared in Poem–a–Day, Prairie Schooner, The Offing, and more. Her debut poetry collection, "d-sorientation" was praised as a “work of staggering beauty, intellect, and grace…” by Aracelis Girmay. McClure made her acting debut as Mack in All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt (A24, 2023), a role The New Yorker described as “extraordinary,” embodying “poise, inwardness, thoughtful radiance, and a quietly relentless sense of purpose.” As with all Writers' Festival programming, this event is free and all are welcome to attend. Free parking is available in the campus deck at 137 S McDonough St, Decatur, GA 30030. Signs will direct you to Winter Theatre.
