Join with sustainability-minded folks to help cultivate native species in the Soil Health Research Plot, just south of Bullock Science Center (the field between Woodruff Athletic Center and the tennis courts). Students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome as volunteers for one session or every Friday. Depending on the day, season, and weather, tasks may include:
• planting seeds (directly or in trays) and transplants
• raking mulch & managing weeds
• researching information
• designing bioswales and other landscape features
• collecting data on soil, insects, plants, and/or birds
• talking with community members about the project
Gloves and tools will be provided. Join for 30 minutes or the whole time! We’ll be looking for folks who want to take the lead on a few projects as well. Contact Dr. Molly Embree (membree@agnesscott.edu) for more information.
