Join us for a panel conversation next with field experts and tabling fair to follow, made possible by Agnes Scott's Interfaith America Faith & Health Grant. The topic of discussion will be "Religion and Spirituality as a Social Determinant in Mental Health and Health Professions".  The panelists are:

Dr. Eunice Chay `07 is the Chief Dental Officer and co-founder of Ethnē Health Dental, where she leads efforts to expand access to high-quality, affordable dental care for underserved communities in Clarkston, GA. She earned her BA in International Relations from Agnes Scott College, her DMD and MPH from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed advanced clinical training through a General Practice Residency at Virtua Health System in Camden, NJ and an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program with NYU-Langone Health in Atlanta. Deeply shaped by her Chinese/Taiwanese American identity and compelled by her faith, Dr. Chay has long been committed to serving underserved communities, in particular, refugee and immigrant communities. Her public health research and early nonprofit work focused on oral health education and outreach among resettled populations. She played a pivotal role in launching Ethnē Dental—recruiting and training a diverse team, leading fundraising and strategic planning, and overseeing the development and expansion of a growing clinic. Dr. Chay is passionate about addressing disparities in dental care and is honored to serve the vibrant and diverse Clarkston community.

Dr. Eugene Robinson (Gene), D.Min., LMFT, ACPE, APA, is an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. Certified Educator and Marriage and Family Therapist. He holds professional membership in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists and the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. He has published several articles and facilitated workshops on a range of topics related to mental and spiritual health. Gene comes from a Baptist heritage. He has served as Director of Spiritual Health Programs and Counseling Centers. He was privileged to teach at Interdenominational Theological Seminary, Union Theological Seminary, and Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Gene currently serves as Senior Educator in Emory Healthcare’s Spiritual Health Department, where he facilitates CPE groups and coordinates the work of the Cognitive Compassion Spiritual Health Fellows, who specialize in spiritual care in mental health. Gene is married and the father of two sons, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Dr. Katie Sundermeier is the Executive Director of Samaritan Counseling Center. She also provides pre-marital counseling and pastoral counseling. Katie enjoys providing pastoral counseling to those who are seeking ways to understand and process life’s circumstances integrating one’s faith, doubts and theology. Dr. Sundermeier attended Vanderbilt University where she double majored in German and Communication Studies. Following two years in a corporate job, Dr. Sundermeier earned her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and did additional coursework at the University of Bonn, Germany. Dr. Sundermeier is ordained as a Presbyterian Minister in the PC(USA). She has recently completed her Doctorate in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
