About this Event
141 East College Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030
This session in the Professional Success in Public Health Series will cover a variety of different topics related to paying for public health school, including: external scholarships, how to make yourself competitive for internal funding programs (scholarships, research assistant programs, etc.), loan forgiveness programs, employee tuition reduction programs, and Peace Corps Scholarships, among others. We will provide an overview of different types of student loans, and some tips for determining the maximum amount of loans that you should take on. We will also talk about how to choose schools and programs that are more affordable but still provide an excellent education.
This session is open to all students, regardless of major. There are generally no prerequisite courses for Public Health graduate school (the one exception is that Epidemiology and Biostatistics programs sometimes want students to have taken Calculus). That means that students from any major can apply to Public Health graduate school, even if they have never taken a public health course.
