About this Event
141 East College Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030
Join the Spanish Department to watch a short video and to discuss the phenomenon of “No Sabo,” a sometimes-derogatory expression that describes U.S. latines who do not speak Spanish. The diversity of the Latine world—including French- and Portuguese-speaking countries in the Americas—and issues of race and assimilation also contribute to the tenuous relationship language and identity. Refreshments will be served.
