On the heels of Stacey Abrams visit to campus on the evening of Sept. 11, there will be four other guests involved in the fight for more fair and democratic elections and fighting voter suppression, particularly in Georgia. Whether you just want to learn more about these vital issues, or are looking for volunteer opportunities or career options, please feel free to attend.

These guests are part of the LDR200 course (still open for enrollment until Friday) and so they will each be speaking from 6:40-7:55pm in 228 Campbell Hall.

But all students are welcome to come to these four guest speakers.

Thursday, Sept. 12: Nse Ufot, Executive Director of the New Georgia Project. Her strategy leverages technology with the goal of making it easier for every voter to engage in every election. Nsé and her team are also developing Georgia’s home-grown talent by training and organizing local activists across the state.

Tuesday, Sept. 17: Rebecca DeHart, CEO of Fair Count (on Census). Prior to working on Fair Count, Rebecca was the Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Georgia.

Thursday, Sept. 19: Hillary Holley and Kia Sims at Fair Fight Action. Hillary worked for the 2018 Abrams for Governor campaign and now Abrams' new voting rights organization. Hillary is currently the Director of Organizing for Fair Fight where she manages all grassroots volunteers, all partnerships with allied organizations, and building a grassroots network to fight for voting right across the country. As a member of the organizing team, Kia helps to manage volunteers and leads college and high school engagement initiatives.

Tuesday, Sept. 24: Sara T. Ghazal, Director of Voter Protection for the Democratic Party of Georgia. She oversees efforts to protect the rights of all voters in Georgia to have equal and easy access to the polls.
