Kathryn Gin Lum is Associate Professor in the Religious Studies and History Departments at Stanford University and she will be lecturing on her latest book, "Heathen: Race & Religion in American History". Harvard University Press calls this text "An innovative history that shows how the religious idea of the heathen in need of salvation undergirds American conceptions of race."
