The Department of History welcomes Kathryn Gin Lum, Associate Professor in the Religious Studies and History Departments at Stanford University to discuss her her latest book, "Heathen: Race & Religion in American History". This talk shows how the religious idea of the heathen in need of salvation undergirds American conceptions of race.

This is a SUMMIT Signature Speaker Event, it is required for all first-year GBL Journeys students but open to all. Made possible by the James T. & Ella Rather Kirk Fund.
