The Young Writers Intensive is an opportunity for talented authors and dedicated novelists to immerse themselves in a variety of literary experiences.  

Our in-person 2-week high school camps are filled with scripted prompts activities and knowledgeable instructors that look to fan the flames of each participant's creativity. Each day the intensive will offer a very specific skill set teaching fiction creative non-fiction digital storytelling and poetry slam while also engaging the group in broader viewpoints such as the different ways to approach writing principles and the business of publishing.

Health and safety protocols 

  • All participants must adhere to Agnes Scott’s COVID-19 policies, including for masks, in effect at the time.  Participants ages 12 and older should be fully vaccinated and, if eligible, up-to-date with COVID-19 boosters. 
  • Participants who have exemptions or are otherwise unvaccinated or not boostered must provide a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours before the first day of class. 
  • When indoors, masks are required for all; outdoors masks are optional if participants are vaccinated; but required at all times for unvaccinated participants. KN95 or N95 masks are strongly recommended.
  • All must submit proof of vaccinations to the instructor on the first day of class for verification.  If documents are not available and current, the participant will not be allowed to remain onsite.

Agnes Scott College will continue to monitor public health and safety conditions, and will communicate necessary changes as they become available.
