2024 Speaker: Li Qi, Professor of Economics
Lecture Title:  “See the Herd and Follow the Crowd: an Investment Decision Study"

More Americans than ever own stocks as a result of an explosion in investment activities fueled both by the pandemic and zero-commission trading apps. When it comes to investing, do you follow the crowd? Professor Li Qi uses the new eye-tracking technology to study visual attention one allocates between private information and the crowd’s actions during stock trading, and its connection to herding tendencies. Come to this year’s Gladden Lecture to learn how behavioral science provides insights on economic and financial decision-making.

The Gladden Award is given to a member of the Agnes Scott faculty whose scholarly activities are especially noteworthy. Recipients are asked to give a public lecture to the Agnes Scott community on a topic related to their scholarly work. The Gladden Public Lecture Series is named for Joseph R. Gladden Jr., chair of the Agnes Scott Board of Trustees from 1992 to 2002.

This event is free and open to the public.  Complimentary parking is available in the West Parking Facility.  For directions go HERE.
