This special program highlights masterworks by four remarkable composers—Clara Schumann, Florence Price, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Together, their music offers a journey through the intimate lyricism of the Romantic era and the vibrant, soulful voices of early 20th-century composers whose contributions deserve wider recognition.
Audiences will experience a beautiful range of colors and emotions, from the poetry and brilliance of Clara Schumann to the warmth and rhythmic energy of Florence Price, the sweeping Romanticism of Rachmaninoff, and the lush textures of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
Set within the serene atmosphere of Julia Smith Chapel, this concert invites listeners to gather, reflect, and enjoy an afternoon of extraordinary artistry.
Admission is free, and everyone is warmly invited.
*Besides the 2/8 concert, Jesús Castro-Balbi is also offering a cello masterclass on Saturday 2/7 at 5pm in Maclean Auditorium, Presser Hall, visit:
