Democracy, Human Rights, and Hate Speech

What are the challenges to democracy and human rights presented by various forms of anti-democratic and hate speech? How do Brazilian and US legal systems differ in dealing with these forms of noxious expression? Professors and students from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Mackenzie University in Sao Paulo, and the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Florianopolis will address these issues in two panels consisting of mini-lectures and questions and comments.
