The Dalton Gallery was originally called "The Dalton Galleries" and this semester's collection of exhibitions certainly explores the potential of using the many rooms and spaces for a variety of exhibitions in conversation and response to one another. In the main gallery spaces until December 5 is "Transcendent"-, curated by Anna Carnes `19, featuring artist works centering on gender identity this exhibition will provoke visitors to think critically about what it means to be gendered in the world today and to reflect on their own relationship with gender.
From Sept 23-Oct 20 is Running in the rain, Falling in the ocean curated by Zachary Francois of Prelude Pointe Gallery. This exhibition highlights the art of 6 fiber artists whose work explores color theory through the use of textiles. These artists demonstrate the use of fiber art techniques that originate from black people while Using textile making as a form of healing and meditation. The result of this Multi-media exploration yields bold and extraordinary pieces.

Later in the semester will be "Interiority" and "What Makes a Fake?" curated by the Exhibitions Processes class, taught by Becky Bivens `07. Check back for more details on these exhibitions!
