The Young Writers Intensive is an opportunity for talented authors and dedicated novelists to immerse themselves in a variety of literary experiences. Our 2-week high school camp is filled with scripted prompts activities and knowledgeable instructors that look to fan the flames of each participant's creativity. Each day the intensive will offer a very specific skill set teaching fiction creative non-fiction digital storytelling and poetry slam while also engaging the group in broader viewpoints such as the different ways to approach writing principles and the business of publishing. The in-person experience is monitored with your student's safety in mind. And designed in (5) 45-minute workshop/master class sessions. Before the hour 15-minute breaks and 30-45 minute lunch break. Each writer will also have peer feedback and get a one-on-one opportunity with the instructor to discuss a current project they have in the works. Throughout the intensive writers are introduced to fundamentals that build on their current understanding and prepare them for future grade level criteria. Team building activities are also provided to strengthen the sense of community keep the fun atmosphere and provide new ways to expand the writer's thinking. By the end of the experience, your young writer will have a deeper knowledge of storytelling.
Each session will keep to all health and safety protocols of Agnes Scott (masks are welcome; not required).
