Apr 24 8 pm: Robin Shelton, Professor of Physics at University of Georgia will present a lecture entitled, "Our Milky Way Galaxy and Its Frequent Guests". This presentation will take you on a tour of our galaxy. There are stars flying through space, stars being born, and stars dying. There are planets. And, there are more galaxies beyond our own galaxy. You will meet some of our neighbor galaxies. Some live so nearby that they can’t help themselves from dropping in for a visit. Smaller clumps are most common. Using computer simulations, we can see how these visits work out for all parties involved.
