Behind the Scenes of Hulu’s ‘Tell Me Lies’: A Film Production Q&A with Assistant Director Emily Evashevski
Are you interested in hearing about opportunities in the film and television industry? Professors Willie Tolliver and Oreathia Smith will host Hulu “Tell Me Lies” Assistant Director Emily Evashevski.
Willie Tolliver, Professor of English, Director of Africana Studies, and Director of Film and Media Studies, will provide an introduction. Oreathia Smith, Adjunct Professor of Film, Media Studies, and Writing for Film and Television followed will lead an open Q&A. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to find out more about this industry!
Emily Evashevski grew up in a small town in the middle of nowhere in Michigan and, after finding out in college that working in film and television was a viable career option, moved to New York to give it a shot. After a series of years where she did just about every job in the film industry, she finally found my place in it as an assistant director, arranging and managing the complicated logistical plans that go into filming a movie or season of television. She spent most of my career (about 15 years) in New York City, but a few years ago ended up in Atlanta for a job and never left. She’s mostly worked on television shows in the last ten or so years of her career, including Orange is the New Black, First Kill, Madam Secretary, and High Maintenance.
