Roxane Gay returns with a deeply personal memoir about what it means to be a woman in an "unruly" body, what it means to nurture oneself through all one's hungers, and how to find a home in the world that is not always or even often safe, but is sometimes beautiful. For anyone who has struggled to find solace after violence or to recognize the ambivalent power of their own human body, Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body is a gift that will open eyes and hearts. Roxane Gay is one of the most important voices of our generation and Charis is so honored to co-host Roxane Gay in collaboration with Agnes Scott College at historic Gaines Chapel in Presser Hall.
Ms. Gay will read from Hunger and answer questions from the audience before signing copies of her books.
