Our keynote speaker for this year's symposium is Author and Activist, Alice Walker. This legendary literary giant has chosen to be with us at a special time in the college's history as she cares deeply about issues of social justice and is committed to the cause of inclusion. She is inspired by the story of Gay Johnson McDougall and particularly pleased with the college's demonstration of its commitment to embrace a more diverse and inclusive community that fully authenticates the experiences of all of its members through direct acts of reconciliation. Alice Walker's public lecture will take place on Sunday, April 22nd at 7:00pm in Gaines Chapel, Presser Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
